Lipton’s Seat is one of the amazing mountain viewpoints in the green hill country of Sri Lanka. It is located at a high place of 1,970 meters above sea level near the small town of Haputale. This old mountain gives special 360-degree views of the valleys and many green tea fields. The place is named after Sir Thomas Lipton, the Scottish tea businessman used to sit on this same ridge to watch his big tea business grow.

To see this place at its best people should come early in the morning before eight o’clock. A local fog usually comes in by the middle of the day which makes the big views hard to see. On days when the sky’s very clear the views can go across seven different provinces. Most people go to the top by hiring a tuk-tuk from Haputale. Some people like to walk up the hill through the busy 

If you go up high in the morning you can also visit the Dambatenne Tea Factory or lipton’s seat below. This old place from 1890 is still. Shows how real Ceylon tea  made. Bringing a jacket and good shoes makes the trip much better, to this famous place.
